DivX VOD rentals expire in one of several ways, giving content owners control over all the specific parameters.
Personal computer - rentals expire by time. A rental usually lasts between 2-30 days - it is up to the content owner to decide. DivX Certified ® devices - rentals can expire by views. Users are granted a set number of views - generally defined as watching the video from start to finish. Pausing, rewinding or fast forwarding the video does not result in additional views, but watching a portion of the video, then closing it and watching something else, would reduce the number of available views of the video by one.
